Dhaka, Sep 28 (V7N) – Chief Adviser Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus has expressed deep shock and sorrow over the deaths of four people, including three firefighters, in a devastating fire at a chemical warehouse in Tongi, Gazipur city.

In a condolence message issued on Sunday, Dr. Yunus said:

“Four people, including three of our brave firefighters, lost their lives in the fire while performing their noble duty of saving lives. This is a heartbreaking incident. I pray for the souls of the deceased and express my deepest condolences to the bereaved families.”

The Chief Adviser paid tribute to the courage and sacrifice of the fire service, saying they put their lives at risk day and night to protect lives and property. “Their great sacrifice will be forever remembered in the history of the nation,” he added.

Dr. Yunus further noted that the tragedy was not only a loss of lives but also a reminder of the courage, humanity, and dedication of the fire service. “Your loved ones did not just lose their lives, they sacrificed their lives for the nation. Every person in the country will remember their sacrifice with respect,” he said, addressing the families of the deceased.

He prayed for the eternal peace of the departed souls and urged that their sacrifice serve as an inspiration to build a safer Bangladesh.
