Dhaka, Sep 21 (V7N) – The government has appointed new Deputy Commissioners (DCs) in Chittagong, Narsingdi and Naogaon districts. The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification on Sunday confirming the reshuffle.
According to the notification, Mohammad Abdul Awal has been made the new DC of Chittagong. He previously served in several key positions in public administration.
In Narsingdi, Mohammad Anwar Hossain, Deputy Secretary of the Health, Education and Family Welfare Department, has been appointed as DC. Meanwhile, Monira Haque, Deputy Secretary of the Secondary and Higher Education Department, will take charge as DC of Naogaon.
In a separate order, outgoing Chittagong DC Farida Khanam has been transferred to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change as Deputy Secretary. Narsingdi DC Mohammad Rashed Hossain Chowdhury has been posted as Deputy Secretary of the Local Government Department.
Earlier, on August 25, the government appointed new DCs in six other districts — Patuakhali, Kushtia, Kurigram, Meherpur, Netrokona and Khulna.
