Dhaka, July 24 (V7N) – Former Chief Justice ABM Khairul Haque was detained by a team from the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police on Thursday morning at his residence in the Dhanmondi area of the capital.
 
Joint Commissioner (North) of DB Police, Rabiul Islam Bhuiyan, confirmed the detention to the media but refrained from providing specific details regarding the reasons for the detention or the nature of the ongoing investigation.
 
“We will share more information once we have further details,” stated Bhuiyan.
 
Justice Khairul Haque, who served as the 19th Chief Justice of Bangladesh, is widely known for his significant rulings on constitutional matters, which have played a crucial role in shaping Bangladesh's legal landscape.
