Dhaka, Jan 01 (V7N)— Education Advisor Professor Dr. Wahiduddin Mahmud inaugurated a new program to pay salaries and allowances to MPO-registered teachers through Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) using the iBUS Double Plus software. The ceremony took place at the International Mother Language Institute in Segunbagicha, Dhaka, on Wednesday morning.
The event, presided over by Professor ABM Rezaul Karim, Director General (Current Charge) of the Department of Secondary and Higher Education (DSE), marked a significant milestone in the modernization of financial processes in the education sector.
Special guests included:
Professor Dr. M Aminul Islam, Special Assistant to the Chief Advisor on Education (State Minister rank)
Siddique Jobayer, Senior Secretary, Secondary and Higher Education Division, Ministry of Education
Dr. Md. Khaeruzzaman Majumder, Secretary, Finance Division, Ministry of Finance
Dr. K. M. Kabirul Islam, Secretary, Technical and Madrasa Education Division, Ministry of Education
Professor Dr. AKM Riazul Hasan, Chairman, SCTB
The EFT system is expected to bring transparency and efficiency by identifying fake teachers and employees, preventing illegal salary claims, and providing an accurate count of MPO-registered teachers in private educational institutions. Additionally, the program will simplify the process for teachers and employees to access retirement benefits, ensuring a smoother transition post-service.
The initiative is seen as a step forward in enhancing accountability and improving the management of educational resources in Bangladesh.
