Dhaka, Dec 20, (V7N) - Chief Adviser Prof. Muhammad Yunus, who had just returned from Cairo after attending the D-8 Summit, attended the Namaz-e-Janaza of AF Hassan Ariff at the Dhanmondi No.7 road mosque on Friday. Prof. Yunus, who had been traveling for over 10 hours, received the sad news of Ariff's sudden death shortly after his plane landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
 
Upon hearing of the passing of AF Hassan Ariff, a prominent lawyer and former Attorney General of Bangladesh, Prof. Yunus immediately made his way to the hospital to offer condolences to the grieving family. Ariff, who was serving as an adviser to the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism and the Ministry of Land, passed away at around 3:10 PM on Friday. He was 85 years old.
 
Sources suggest that Ariff’s death was due to a suspected heart attack, as he had collapsed while having lunch at home. Despite being rushed to the hospital, doctors confirmed his death shortly thereafter. Ariff’s passing has left a significant void in both the legal and political communities, with tributes pouring in from across the nation.
 
At the mosque, Prof. Yunus joined other dignitaries, family members, and well-wishers in performing the final rites of AF Hassan Ariff, expressing deep sorrow over the loss of a dedicated and respected public figure.
