Dhaka, May 27 (V7N)- The death toll from a head-on collision between two buses in the capital’s Nadda area has risen to four, following the death of three more injured passengers at hospitals. At least eight others remain injured and are undergoing treatment at different medical facilities in the city.
The accident occurred on Wednesday morning (May 27) in the Nadda area of Dhaka, when an Akash Paribahan bus heading toward Gulistan was struck by an out-of-control Islam Paribahan vehicle coming from the opposite direction.
Eyewitnesses said the Islam Paribahan bus, which was traveling from Patuakhali, lost control and crossed the road divider before crashing into the Akash Paribahan bus, leaving it heavily damaged.
One passenger died on the spot, while three others later succumbed to their injuries at hospitals. The injured were rescued by locals with the assistance of emergency services after a 999 call and were sent to Kurmitola and Baridhara General Hospitals for treatment.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident, which also caused temporary traffic disruption in the area.
