Dhaka, Oct 14 (V7N) — A fire broke out at a garment factory and chemical godown named Cosmic Pharma in the Rupnagar area of Mirpur, Dhaka, on Tuesday (October 14) morning.

According to the Fire Service and Civil Defence, the blaze started around 11:40 am. Five fire service units are currently working to bring the fire under control, while three additional units are on their way to the spot.

The Fire Service Media Cell confirmed that they were alerted to the incident at 11:40 am, and firefighters arrived at the scene by 11:56 am.

As of now, the cause of the fire and the extent of damage remain unknown. Authorities have not yet confirmed whether any casualties or injuries have occurred.

Firefighting operations are ongoing.
