New Delhi, Oct 12 (V7N)- The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced the closure of six metro stations in the Indian capital on Monday, citing security concerns, just a day after the Supreme Court ordered that metro and rail services continue normally.
According to the DMRC, the stations were scheduled to remain closed from 6 am to 4 pm local time on Monday (October 12).
The announcement came after the Supreme Court ruled on Sunday that metro and rail services in Delhi should operate as usual. The court also stated that peaceful and unarmed individuals could not be detained without following due legal process.
Despite the court's order, the DMRC announced the temporary closure of six stations on security grounds.
The affected stations are:
-
Patel Chowk
-
Janpath
-
Rajiv Chowk
-
