Kyiv, Aug 25 (V7N)- Newly elected British Prime Minister Andy Burnham has met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv, reaffirming the United Kingdom's continued support for Ukraine amid its ongoing war with Russia.
Burnham travelled to Kyiv on Monday on his first foreign visit since taking office, coinciding with Ukraine's 35th Independence Day.
During the meeting, the British prime minister reiterated London's commitment to supporting Ukraine. He also handed over blueprints related to the production of Storm Shadow cruise missiles, which have been supplied to Ukraine during the conflict with Russia.
Burnham said the UK would continue to maintain pressure on Moscow despite threats from Russia.
President Zelensky thanked the British government for what he described as its unwavering support for Ukraine throughout the more than four-year conflict with Russia.
The meeting comes as Kyiv continues to seek stronger military and diplomatic backing from its Western allies while efforts to end the war remain ongoing.
