Riyadh, Jul 12 (V7N)- Saudi Arabia has strongly criticized Iran's recent activities in the Middle East, describing Tehran's actions as "destabilizing behavior" and warning that they pose a serious threat to the security of vital maritime routes.
In a statement, the Saudi Foreign Ministry condemned what it described as Iran's continued attacks on commercial vessels, alleging that such actions violate international law, the Charter of the United Nations, the Charter of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and the principles of good neighborly relations.
The ministry said the attacks have seriously endangered the safety of international navigation and freedom of movement at sea, raising concerns over the security of key shipping lanes.
According to the statement, disruptions to maritime routes that are crucial for global trade not only threaten regional stability but also risk affecting international supply chains and commercial activities worldwide.
Saudi Arabia's latest remarks come amid heightened tensions in the Middle East and growing international concern over security in the Gulf region.
Several countries have recently voiced concern over Iran's regional activities, warning that any escalation could further undermine regional stability and jeopardize the safety of international shipping routes.
