Islamabad, Apr 20 (V7N) — A United States delegation is set to arrive in Pakistan today for the second round of peace talks with Iran, as regional tensions remain high.

However, US Vice President JD Vance has canceled his planned visit at the last moment, citing security concerns, according to reports from Tasnim News Agency.

Delegation members and agenda

The US negotiating team will include special envoy Steve Witkoff and diplomat Jared Kushner. The talks are expected to focus on de-escalation and key security issues in the Middle East.

Strong warning from Washington

In a recent social media post, US President Donald Trump issued a stern warning to Tehran, stating that failure to accept US proposals could result in attacks on critical infrastructure, including power plants and bridges.

Iran sets conditions

Meanwhile, Tehran has accused Washington of violating the ceasefire by imposing a naval blockade around the Strait of Hormuz.

According to Iranian media, authorities in Tehran have made it clear that they will not participate in further negotiations unless the blockade is lifted.

The upcoming talks are seen as crucial, as both sides remain deeply divided over security and military actions in the region.
