Islamabad, Apr 15, (V7N) - Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has intensified his diplomatic efforts to facilitate a new round of negotiations between the United States and Iran following a recent deadlock. According to a report by AP News, the Prime Minister is scheduled to visit Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Turkey this week in a high-stakes attempt to mediate between the two nations and ensure regional stability.
The Pakistani Foreign Ministry issued a statement confirming that the diplomatic mission will take place from April 15 to April 18. While the visit aims to strengthen bilateral ties with these key partners, the primary focus remains on discussing regional peace and security frameworks necessary to bring Washington and Tehran back to the negotiating table.
This urgent diplomatic push follows the conclusion of the first round of US-Iran talks held in Islamabad, which ended without a final agreement. Prime Minister Sharif is reportedly working against a tight deadline, aiming to organize a second round of discussions before the current temporary ceasefire is set to expire on April 22.
During his stops in Saudi Arabia and Qatar, Sharif is expected to engage in detailed discussions with top leaders regarding ongoing regional cooperation and the volatile situation in the Middle East. These meetings will focus on leveraging the influence of Gulf nations to find a sustainable path toward peace and de-escalation between the conflicting parties.
The final leg of the tour will take the Prime Minister to Turkey, where he is slated to participate in the fifth session of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum. In addition to meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Sharif will use the international platform to exchange views with various world leaders, seeking broader international support for Pakistan's mediation efforts.
