Tehran, Feb 28 (V7N) – Iran is facing widespread disruption of mobile and internet services following coordinated air and cyberattacks reportedly carried out by the United States and Israel, Iranian media confirmed on Saturday.
The Iran’s Fars News Agency reported that mobile phone calls are currently impossible across much of the country, including the capital Tehran. Residents have expressed concern that internet services may be completely shut down at any time.
Meanwhile, Tasnim News Agency reported that several mobile applications are not functioning properly, and the websites of multiple media outlets have been blocked, including the state-run IRNA. However, the agency’s Telegram channel remains operational.
The cyberattacks are believed to have been launched in parallel with airstrikes on strategic Iranian installations, adding a new dimension to the ongoing tensions in the region.
Authorities in Tehran have not yet issued an official statement regarding the extent of the disruption or potential recovery plans for telecommunications and internet services.
