New Delhi, Feb 01 (V7N) — India has unveiled its budget for the fiscal year 2026-27, with Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presenting it in the country's parliament on Sunday. The proposed budget includes significant allocations for foreign aid to neighboring countries.
According to the Times of India, the largest allocation is for Bhutan at Rs 2,288.56 crore. In addition, Nepal will receive Rs 8 billion, Sri Lanka Rs 4 billion, and Afghanistan Rs 1.5 billion.
Meanwhile, India has allocated Rs 60 crore for Bangladesh, a decrease from Rs 120 crore allocated in the previous fiscal year and later reduced to about Rs 34.5 crore.
India’s central budget is traditionally divided into Part A and Part B. Part A contains detailed announcements on government policies and projects, while Part B mainly covers proposals related to income tax and customs.
