New York, Oct 31 (V7N)- Heavy rainfall has inundated the streets of New York City, causing severe flooding and widespread disruption on Thursday (October 31). According to reports from Reuters, at least two people have died as a result of the flooding.

Roads across the city were submerged, with cars, debris, and household items seen floating in the water. Drivers struggled to navigate through flooded streets, while many residents were trapped inside their homes. Some were forced to wade through thigh-deep water to attend to emergencies.

The National Weather Service (NWS) reported that the flooding was caused by record-breaking rainfall. LaGuardia Airport alone recorded 2.09 inches (5.31 centimeters) of rain, disrupting both ground transportation and flight operations.

Authorities have urged residents to remain cautious and avoid unnecessary travel until water levels recede.
