Texas, July 06 (V7N) — The devastating floods that have swept through Texas have now claimed at least 50 lives, including 15 children, according to CNN News. Among the missing are 27 girls who were attending a summer camp in Kerr County. Rescue teams are continuing their desperate search for survivors.

Authorities confirmed that the families of four of the camp’s children have identified their bodies. So far, around 850 people have been rescued from the flood-hit areas.

The disaster struck after torrential rain began suddenly on the morning of July 4. Within a short time, the Guadalupe River surged to 29 feet above its normal level, inundating nearby communities and leaving a trail of destruction.

Thousands of residents have been forced to flee their homes, seeking safety on higher ground. Emergency services remain on high alert as rescue and recovery efforts continue.

The state administration has declared a state of emergency, describing the situation as “life-threatening and extremely dangerous.”
