Riyadh, Aug 29 (V7N)- Cristiano Ronaldo scored the winning goal as Al Nassr defeated Al Taawoun 2-1 in the Saudi Pro League, helping his team maintain their perfect start to the season.

Playing at home on Friday (August 29), Al Nassr fell behind early when Bassam Mohammed put Al Taawoun ahead in the 11th minute.

The hosts responded just before halftime. Samu Costa found the net after receiving an assist from Sadio Mane, sending the two teams into the break level at 1-1.

Ronaldo then completed the comeback in the 50th minute. The Portuguese superstar's goal took his Saudi Pro League tally for Al Nassr to 104, surpassing former Saudi striker Mohammed Al Sahlawi, who scored 103 league goals for the club between 2009 and 2019.

The goal also secured three points for Al Nassr, who remain at the top of the league table.

Al Nassr will next face Al Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League on September 6.
