Jul 18 (V7N)- Argentina head coach Lionel Scaloni has said the love and support of the Argentine people inspires his team to chase another FIFA World Cup title, describing the unity created by football as one of the country's greatest achievements.

Speaking at the official pre-match press conference ahead of the World Cup final, Scaloni said the joy of the Argentine people deeply moves him and serves as extra motivation for the team.

"The Argentina team plays for the people of the country and for our families," Scaloni said. "When we see people wearing the Argentina jersey together, gathering in front of their televisions and even lifelong rival fans embracing each other, that is our greatest achievement."

The Argentine coach paid special tribute to captain Lionel Messi, saying reaching another World Cup final at the age of 39 is an extraordinary accomplishment.

"Reaching the final at this stage of his career is incredible," Scaloni said. "Just as people miss Diego Maradona today, one day everyone will miss Messi as well. That's why we should enjoy watching him while we still can."

Scaloni added that the current Argentina squad has achieved something few believed possible just a few years ago.

Reflecting on the team's journey, the coach admitted the emotional significance of their success.

"My only goal is to win," he said. "Over the years, we have built something that is difficult to express in words. Sometimes I cry alone when I think about what we have achieved. I am grateful to everyone who has been part of this journey."

Ahead of the final, Scaloni's message to his players was simple: embrace the occasion.

"I've told the players to enjoy this moment. This is what they will remember for the rest of their lives. Nothing else matters."

Speaking about the opposition, Scaloni praised Spain as one of the strongest teams in the tournament.

"Spain are an outstanding team. It's not just Lamine Yamal—the entire squad is strong," he said, adding that he regularly follows Spanish league football and is well aware of the quality his side will face in the final.
