London, Nov 12 (V7N)- UEFA has officially announced the schedule for the 2028 UEFA European Championship, confirming that the tournament will kick off on June 9 in Cardiff, with the final set for July 9 at Wembley Stadium in London.

The governing body made the announcement during the official opening event of Euro 2028 in London on Wednesday.

A total of 24 national teams will compete across nine venues in eight cities throughout England, Ireland, Wales, and Scotland. In total, 51 matches will be played.

The semi-finals and one quarter-final will take place at Wembley, while the remaining quarter-final matches will be hosted in Dublin, Glasgow, and Cardiff.

As in previous editions, host nations will not receive automatic qualification. They will need to earn their spots through the qualifying rounds, with the qualifying draw scheduled to be held in Belfast on December 6, 2026.
