Chittagong, Oct 27 (V7N)- Bangladesh lost the toss in the first T20I against the West Indies, with the Caribbean team electing to field first.
This match marks Bangladesh’s return to home T20I cricket against the West Indies after seven years. The last series, held in Sylhet and Mirpur in 2018, was won by the West Indies 2-1.
The Bangladesh team enters the series in high spirits, having defeated the West Indies 2-1 in the recent ODI series at home. The Tigers carry the confidence gained from their victories in Mirpur.
In contrast to last year’s T20I series against Afghanistan in the UAE, where Zaker Ali led Bangladesh in the absence of Liton Das, this time Zaker Ali did not make the playing XI.
Bangladesh XI: Liton Das (captain), Tanjid Hasan, Saif Hasan, Towhid Hridoy, Nurul Hasan, Shamim Hossain, Rishad Hossain, Tanjim Hasan, Nasum Ahmed, Taskin Ahmed, Mostafizur Rahman.
West Indies XI: Brandon King, Alick Athanase, Shai Hope (captain), Sherfan Rutherford, Roston Chase, Rovman Powell, Jason Holder, Romario Shepherd, Akil Hossain, Khari Pierre, Jayden Sills.
