Dhaka, Sep 11 (V7N) – The Bangladesh football team and accompanying staff have safely returned to Dhaka from Nepal amid recent political unrest in the neighboring country. A special Bangladesh Air Force flight brought the players and officials home around 3 pm today (Thursday, September 11). Media personnel covering the Bangladesh-Nepal matches were also on board.
The team had arrived in Kathmandu earlier to play two matches. However, due to widespread student and public protests in Nepal that began on September 8, the matches were disrupted and the airport was closed, forcing the team to remain confined in their hotel for the past two days.
The Bangladesh government and the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) coordinated with authorities to ensure the team’s quick and safe return once flights resumed.
