Jerusalem, July 21, (V7N) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, 75, has been diagnosed with food poisoning and is currently recovering at home, according to an official statement from his office on Sunday.

Netanyahu reportedly fell ill overnight and was later diagnosed with intestinal inflammation and dehydration. “In accordance with the advice of doctors, the prime minister will rest at home for the next three days and will conduct state affairs from there,” the statement added.

The Israeli leader, who has a history of health issues, received a pacemaker in 2023 and underwent prostate surgery in December of the same year after being diagnosed with a urinary tract infection.

The Prime Minister’s Office has confirmed that while Netanyahu's condition is stable, his public engagements have been canceled temporarily as a precautionary measure.
