Gaza, July 5 (V7N) — Palestinian independence group Hamas has given a positive response to the latest ceasefire and prisoner exchange proposals aimed at ending the ongoing conflict in Gaza, according to a report by Reuters.

In a statement issued on Friday (July 4), Hamas confirmed that it had submitted its official reply to mediators. The group stated:

“Hamas has completed internal discussions and consultations with other Palestinian factions regarding the latest proposals from mediators. We are now ready to immediately and sincerely discuss the modalities of implementing this proposal.”

On the other hand, Israeli media reported on Saturday (July 5) that Tel Aviv had received Hamas’ response. Israeli officials are said to be carefully reviewing the details of the reply before determining the next steps.

The international community continues to monitor developments closely, with hopes that this breakthrough could pave the way for ending months of hostilities in the region.
