Dhaka, July 18,(V7N) – The 2024-25 football season has wrapped up with the Club World Cup, and anticipation is building for the upcoming 2025-26 season. Clubs across Europe are already busy preparing — from pre-season training to building squads — as fans eagerly await the kick-off.
English Premier League
The 34th Premier League season will begin on August 15, featuring 20 clubs. This season will see the continued use of semi-automated offside technology, first introduced late last season. Additionally, Puma will replace Nike as the official match ball supplier starting the 2025-26 season. Newly promoted teams include Leeds United, Burnley, and Sunderland.
Spanish La Liga
La Liga’s 95th season also kicks off on August 15 with 20 teams competing until May 24, 2026. New entrants this year are Levante, Elche, and Real Oviedo.
German Bundesliga
The 63rd Bundesliga season starts a week later, on August 22, featuring 18 teams through June 16, 2026. This year’s newcomers are FC Cologne and Hamburg.
French Ligue 1 and Italian Serie A
Ligue 1’s 88th season begins alongside the Premier League and La Liga on August 15. Italy’s Serie A, entering its 124th season, will start slightly later on August 23, concluding on May 24, 2026.
Continental Competitions
Outside domestic leagues, clubs are competing in Europe’s elite tournaments. The 2025-26 UEFA Champions League qualifying rounds commenced on July 8, with the group stage featuring 36 teams starting September 16. Following closely, the Europa League begins September 24, and the Conference League kicks off on October 2, running until May 27, 2026.
