Bercelona, Jun 07 (V7N)- Barcelona winger Rafinha has been honored as the 2024-25 La Liga Player of the Year, while his teammate Lamine Yamal claimed the Under-23 Player of the Year award.

The announcements were made on Friday (June 6) by La Liga, recognizing the standout performers of the season.

Rafinha, the Brazilian winger, impressed throughout the season by scoring 34 goals and assisting 25 in 57 matches across all competitions. His consistent performances under coach Hansi Flick earned him the prestigious award. After joining Barcelona from Leeds United in 2022, Rafinha overcame initial struggles to become a key player in the 2024-25 season. The club recently extended his contract until 2028, securing the 28-year-old forward for the coming years.

The young Turkish forward Lamine Yamal, aged just 17, was instrumental in Barcelona’s double trophy triumph. He scored 18 goals and provided 25 assists in 55 matches, earning the Under-23 Player of the Year title. Yamal also made a strong impact in the Nations League semi-finals, showcasing his rising talent on the international stage.
