Dhaka, Sep 04 (V7N)- BNP Acting Secretary General and Prime Minister's Political Advisor Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed has said that the opposition's long march is part of its political and democratic rights. However, he urged the opposition to refrain from creating a deadlock in the country in the name of political programs.
He made the remarks at the inauguration of the newly elected executive committee of the Bangladesh Dancers' Association at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on Friday (September 4) morning.
Speaking about the ongoing energy crisis, Rizvi said the global situation has contributed to the gas and electricity shortage in Bangladesh and claimed that the crisis was not created by the current government.
He urged the opposition to put forward specific proposals to address the crisis instead of merely organizing street programs.
Addressing the opposition, Rizvi said, “Instead of only holding programs on the streets, present your plans to the people for resolving the crisis. Speak the truth and refrain from creating confusion among the public.”
He also called on the opposition to play a constructive role in making Parliament effective. Alongside reasonable criticism of the government, he said, alternative proposals for resolving national crises should be presented in Parliament.
The BNP leader urged all political parties to act responsibly and avoid repeating past practices, emphasizing the need for constructive plans to address the country's gas and electricity problems.
