Dhaka, Mar 20 (V7N) – Nahid Islam, convener of the National Citizens Party (NCP) and Chief Whip of the Opposition, has urged city residents to put aside differences and participate in the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations.

In a post on his verified Facebook page on Thursday, Nahid announced a three-day Eid festival in the capital, organized on the initiative of citizens. He said, “Good news for the city dwellers who are tired of the mechanical life and busy with work! Continuing from last year, a three-day Eid festival is being organized in the capital on the initiative of the citizens.”

He added that the festivities will include a Mehendi festival on the moon, a colorful Eid procession after prayers, and a kite festival the following day, reviving a 500-year-old tradition with these unique arrangements.

Nahid Islam also sincerely called on the city dwellers to forget all differences and join the festival, emphasizing unity and shared joy during the celebrations.
