Narayanganj, Dec 16 (V7N) — Masuduzzaman Masud, the BNP nominee for the Narayanganj-5 (Sadar-Bandar) constituency in the upcoming 13th National Parliament election, has announced his withdrawal from the race.
He made the announcement while speaking to journalists at the Narayanganj Press Club on Tuesday. Masuduzzaman Masud cited two primary reasons for his decision: concerns over personal security and his family’s wish that he not participate in the election.
Masuduzzaman Masud, owner of Model D Capital Group and former president of the Narayanganj Chamber of Commerce, joined the BNP last September. Although he was already known as a supporter of the party, he received the BNP nomination shortly after joining. However, he decided to withdraw before the election campaign began.
Historically, the Osman family has held significant influence in this constituency. Shamim Osman’s brother, Nasim Osman, served as the Narayanganj-5 MP multiple times.
