Dhaka, Nov 02 (V7N)- Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has been re-elected as the Amir of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami for the 2026–2028 term.

The results of the organization’s internal election were announced by Chief Election Commissioner Assistant Secretary General Maulana ATM Masum on Saturday (November 1) night. The announcement was made public through a press release on Sunday (November 2).

According to the notification, votes were cast by members (Rukons) across the country from October 9 to October 25 through a secret ballot. After completing the counting process, the Chief Election Commissioner officially declared that Dr. Shafiqur Rahman received the highest number of votes, securing his re-election as Amir of the party for the next term.
