Dhaka, Oct 31 (V7N)- Jamaat-e-Islami’s Naib-e-Ameer Professor Mujibur Rahman has urged the government to ensure a proper law and order situation before the upcoming national election, saying that a fair, acceptable, and participatory election is impossible without it.

He made the remarks while attending a breast cancer awareness camp organized by Jamaat-e-Islami’s women’s division in Mirpur-13, Dhaka, on Friday (October 31).

Professor Mujibur Rahman said that if the election is held under the proportional representation (PR) system, citizens will be able to cast their votes freely for candidates of their choice. “Democracy will not stumble under this system, and the country will continue to move forward,” he said.

He further added that the PR system would prevent vote rigging and centre capture, calling on the government to organize the next election under this system without delay.
