Dhaka, Sep 25 (V7N) – BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has warned that if the “fascist Awami League” is rehabilitated into politics, Bangladesh will once again face the crushing weight of tyranny.

Speaking at a press briefing at the BNP’s central office in Nayapaltan on Thursday afternoon, Rizvi alleged that moves to rehabilitate the Awami League appear to be influenced by Jamaat-e-Islami.

“Jamaat may have other motives for showing interest in rehabilitating the Awami League and for trying to be friends with India,” Rizvi said. He further claimed that India supported the directives issued by Sheikh Hasina that led to genocide, which are now coming to light.

Responding to questions about the recent poll survey on voter preferences ahead of the parliamentary elections, the BNP leader dismissed its significance, saying: “BNP has no thoughts about the survey for now.”
