Dhaka, Sep 06 (V7N) – The People’s Rights Council (PRC) has denied any involvement in the vandalism and arson of the Jatiya Party’s central office in Kakrail on Friday. The claim was made by the party’s General Secretary, Rashed Khan, while speaking to reporters at Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Saturday.
Rashed Khan said that after the rally at Shahbagh on Friday, PRC leaders and activists did not go to Kakrail. “Our party is not involved in the attack on the Jatiya Party office,” he stated.
He further criticized Shamim Haider Patwary, Secretary General of a faction of the Jatiya Party, for demanding a ban on the PRC. Rashed Khan called for the arrest of GM Quader and Shamim Haider within 24 hours, adding, “Fascism will not have a place in this country at this time.”
On Nurul Haque Nur’s health, Rashed Khan said the BNP leader is in critical condition, unable to remember anything or control his body. He added that a group is preventing Nur from being sent abroad for treatment.
The incident occurred on Friday evening when a group attacked the Jatiya Party office in Kakrail during a procession, setting fire to the ground floor. Jatiya Party leaders alleged the attack was carried out in retaliation for the earlier attack on Nurul Haque Nur.
