Chittagong, Aug 01 (V7N) – BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed expressed confidence that the pledge to implement the July Charter will soon be fulfilled. Speaking after a courtesy visit to Hathazari Madrasa head Sheikh Ahmed and Director General Mufti Khalil Ahmed Qasemi on Friday afternoon, Salahuddin said the party hopes the July Charter will be signed shortly.

He added that BNP has no disagreements with most proposals from the National Consensus Commission, except for 51 out of 826, and that all necessary preparations for implementing the July Charter are now complete.

Nazrul Islam Khan, also a member of BNP’s Standing Committee, said the party sees no obstacles to holding elections by next February and hopes the government will make a clear announcement soon.

Earlier, BNP leaders paid respects at the grave of former Hefazat-e-Islam Ameer Maulana Shah Ahmed Shafi.
