Sylhet, June 27 (V7N) — Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has called for ensuring that the future politics of Bangladesh remains transparent and just, cautioning against the rise of any new form of fascism.
He made these remarks on Friday morning while speaking to reporters after paying tribute at the grave of former Jamaat Ameer Dewan Sirajul Islam Matlib during a courtesy visit.
Dr. Rahman urged political leaders to prioritize national interest over party interest in their statements and actions. “The way political party leaders make their statements, they should rise above party interests and look after the interests of the country and the nation,” he said.
During his visit, the Jamaat Ameer met with the family of Dewan Sirajul Islam Matlib and inquired about their well-being. He later visited Matlib’s ancestral home and grave.
Among those present at the event were Jamaat’s Central Assistant Secretary General Advocate Ehsanul Mahbub Zubair, District Jamaat Ameer Engineer Shahed Ali, former District Ameer and Central Majlis-e-Shura member Abdul Mannan, and District Secretary Md. Yamir Ali.
