Dhaka, May 15 (V7N) — BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has alleged that the killing of Dhaka University student Shahriar Alam Samyar was politically motivated.

He made the remarks on Thursday afternoon (May 15) while speaking at a human chain organized by Uttaranchal Chhatra Forum in front of the National Press Club.

Rizvi claimed that individuals who stand for the spirit of the Liberation War and uphold the national flag are being targeted. “There is no fascism greater than Sheikh Hasina’s. Campuses that should represent freedom and beauty have now become sites of murder,” he said.

He also criticized the government’s handling of student movements, accusing it of double standards. “On one hand, the government welcomed the NCP movement in front of the Jamuna, but on the other, it ignored the protests by Jagannath University students,” Rizvi added.

Turning his criticism toward the Dhaka University administration, Rizvi accused the Vice Chancellor of behaving in a partisan manner against Chhatra Dal members due to ideological differences.

Calling the murder of Shahriar Alam Samyar politically driven, Rizvi urged law enforcement authorities to take immediate and impartial action to bring the perpetrators to justice.
