DHAKA, Jul 23 (V7N)– US Chargé d'affaires Tracey Ann Jacobson met with Bangladesh's Cultural Affairs Adviser, Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, at his Secretariat office today. The meeting focused on strengthening the friendly relations between Bangladesh and the United States through enhanced cultural cooperation.
Discussions during the meeting covered various initiatives, including potential cultural group exchanges between the two countries and film training workshops for Bangladeshi youth. These programs aim to foster deeper understanding and collaboration in the cultural sphere.
Cultural Adviser Farooki, who assumed his role in November 2024, highlighted the ongoing initiatives and action plans by his ministry to build an inclusive Bangladesh, emphasizing the role of culture in national development.
Chargé d'affaires Jacobson expressed the US's interest in undertaking various programs with Bangladesh to commemorate the upcoming 250th anniversary of U.S. independence. The Cultural Adviser welcomed this proposal and assured the necessary cooperation from his ministry.
Both sides expressed optimism that the discussions would pave the way for more robust cultural ties and mutual understanding between Bangladesh and the United States.
