DHAKA, April 2, (V7N) — Executive Deputy Director of the Center for China Studies Dr. Li Hongmei today paid a courtesy call on Dhaka University (DU) Vice‑Chancellor Professor Dr. A B M Obaidul Islam at his office.

Another Executive Deputy Director of the institution, Xu Shi Cheng, was also present at the meeting.

Discussions focused on preparations for an upcoming international conference scheduled for April 7–8, with emphasis on participation of experts from Bangladesh and China, organizing academic sessions, and strengthening research collaboration.

Both sides expressed interest in expanding international cooperation in education and research, including faculty and student exchange programmes, joint research initiatives, and training opportunities for young researchers.

The DU Vice‑Chancellor stressed the importance of enhancing collaboration between Dhaka University and Chinese institutions, expressing hope for further expansion of such initiatives. Dr. Li Hongmei likewise voiced strong interest in deepening cooperation between the two institutions.
