Chuadanga, Oct 25 (V7N) — India has officially returned 31 Bangladeshi nationals who were detained at different times for illegally crossing the border. The returnees were handed over to Bangladesh through the Darshana Integrated Check Post (ICP) on Saturday afternoon.
The handover took place during a flag meeting between the Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB) and the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) at the battalion commander level.
According to BGB sources, the 31 individuals were detained by the BSF at various locations in India and were held in custody for a prolonged period. They were officially received by the BGB after the flag meeting.
Nazmul Hasan, commander of Chuadanga-6 BGB, said the group included 13 men, 15 women, and three children. After initial verification, they were handed over to the Darshana police station for further processing.
