Jessore, Sep 27 (V7N) – Residents of Monirampur Upazila in Jessore felt a 3.5-magnitude earthquake at 2:27 pm on Saturday, the Earthquake Observation and Research Center of the Bangladesh Meteorological Department reported.
The epicenter was located in Monirampur, about 157 kilometers southwest of Dhaka. No immediate reports of damage or casualties have been received.
This is the third earthquake in Bangladesh this month. On September 14, a 5.8-magnitude earthquake struck Assam, India, and on September 21, a 4.0-magnitude quake occurred in Chhatak, Sunamganj.
Authorities have urged residents to remain alert and follow safety precautions.
