Comilla, Sept 6 (V7N) – Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) intercepted a mini-covered van carrying illegal Indian mobile displays valued at approximately Tk 4.99 crore during a special operation in Kotkobazar, near the border of Adarsha Sadar Upazila, Comilla.

According to a press release from BGB, the operation aimed to prevent smuggling and cross-border illegal trade. The seized consignment included various types of mobile displays imported illegally from India, representing a significant breach of customs and trade regulations.

Officials stated that the vehicle was stopped during a routine border patrol, and the driver, along with the consignment, was handed over to the relevant authorities for further investigation. The operation underscores BGB’s ongoing commitment to curb smuggling and ensure border security in Comilla and other border districts.

The seizure is considered one of the largest in recent months in the region, highlighting the scale of cross-border illegal trade in mobile electronics. BGB officials emphasized that similar operations will continue to safeguard the economy and prevent unlawful imports.
