Rangamati, July 13 (V7N) — Students and concerned citizens carried out a protest march from Banrupa Bazaar to the District Commissioner’s office in Rangamati, condemning recent atrocities described as “dancing over corpses” and “slitting victims’ veins.” Under banners calling for a "No Tolerance" stance, participants demanded immediate justice for these barbaric acts.

Protesters, including leaders from the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, Red July, and the Gono Odhikar Parishad, held placards and chanted slogans: “No more killings or extortion! Justice for all!” In a follow-up rally, speakers such as Imam Hossain Imu, Md. Jalal Uddin, Sadia Islam Sayeda, Zakir Hossain, Wahiduzzaman Roman, and Nurul Alam demanded strict legal action against the perpetrators responsible for slitting victims' veins—an act they described as “unimaginable in any civilized society.” They asserted that the culture of impunity fuels such violence and vowed to intensify their movement until justice is served.

The rally ended at the Press Club, with a joint declaration from student and citizen groups: a nationwide movement will be pursued if thorough legal action is not taken promptly. They issued a stark warning to the interim government: "No one is above the law; empower us with the authority to bring extortionists and killers to justice."
