Dhaka, Aug 24 (V7N)- The Bangladesh Supreme Court has issued a circular prohibiting members of the Bangladesh Judicial Service from engaging in commercial coaching activities, whether conducted physically or through digital platforms.
The circular was signed by Habibur Rahman Siddiqui, Registrar General of the Judicial Branch of the High Court Division of the Supreme Court, on Monday.
According to the notification, the directive has been issued to uphold professional discipline, impartiality and the dignity of judicial service members, while maintaining public confidence in the judiciary.
Under the circular, no member of the Bangladesh Judicial Service may directly or indirectly participate in commercially operated coaching activities conducted either in person or through digital platforms.
Judicial service members have also been prohibited from allowing their names, designations, photographs or identities to be used for commercial purposes in connection with coaching activities on physical or digital platforms.
The circular further states that members of the service cannot disclose, provide or use any confidential, undisclosed or official information obtained while performing their judicial duties for commercial coaching purposes.
They are also prohibited from preparing, editing, publishing or supplying educational materials for commercially operated coaching activities, whether through physical or digital platforms.
The Supreme Court warned that any violation of the provisions of the circular will result in appropriate disciplinary action against the concerned member in accordance with applicable laws and rules.
The directive is aimed at ensuring that members of the judicial service maintain the highest standards of professional conduct and remain free from activities that could affect public confidence in judicial independence and impartiality.
