Dhaka, Aug 18 (V7N) – Former Law Minister Anisul Haque has been shown arrested in two separate murder cases related to the July Movement, while former Election Commission Secretary Helaluddin Ahmed has been shown arrested in a case filed by BNP at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station on charges of sedition and holding elections without the mandate of the people.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md. Monirul Islam approved the applications for their arrests on Monday (August 18).

Investigation Officer SI Abul Farez Jewel of Lalbagh Police Station requested the court to show Anisul Haque arrested in the two murder cases. Meanwhile, Inspector Syed Sajedur Rahman of the PBI requested that Helaluddin Ahmed be shown arrested.

Both accused were produced in court during the hearing, after which the magistrate approved the applications, according to state lawyer Shamsuddoha Suman.
