Dhaka, Jun 19 (V7N) – The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast thunderstorms with gusty winds of up to 60 kilometers per hour in 16 regions of the country, including Dhaka, until Friday evening.
In its forecast for inland river ports valid until 6 pm today, the Meteorological Department said rain or thunderstorms accompanied by winds of 45 to 60 kilometers per hour may sweep across several areas from the west and northwest directions.
The affected regions include Rangpur, Pabna, Tangail, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Faridpur, Kushtia, Jashore, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Cumilla, Noakhali, Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar and Sylhet.
Authorities have advised river ports in these areas to display warning signal number 1 due to the possibility of rough weather conditions.
Residents, especially those living near rivers and coastal areas, have been advised to remain cautious as gusty winds and thunderstorms may affect normal activities.
