Dhaka, Aug 12 (V7N) — The Meteorological Department has predicted the formation of a low-pressure area over the northwest Bay of Bengal and surrounding regions within the next 48 hours. Light to heavy rainfall is expected across all eight divisions of the country over the coming days.
The five-day weather forecast, signed by meteorologist Dr. Muhammad Abul Kalam Mallick on Tuesday, anticipates light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds in many parts of Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions. Some areas in Rajshahi and Chittagong divisions, as well as a few places in Dhaka, Khulna, and Barisal divisions, are also expected to experience rainfall.
Isolated areas in Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet may see moderate to heavy rainfall.
The Meteorological Office further noted that day and night temperatures across Bangladesh are likely to remain nearly unchanged during this period, though a slight relief from the heat is expected starting Wednesday, with temperatures potentially dropping by one to two degrees Celsius.
The rainfall pattern is expected to persist over the next five days.
