Dhaka, Aug 17 (V7N) – The first working day of the week began on a wet note for Dhaka residents, as early morning showers disrupted the daily routine of office-goers and students alike.
From dawn, the capital witnessed nearly an hour-long spell of rain, which brought temporary relief with a cool breeze. However, the continuous rainfall led to waterlogging in several areas, including Mirpur-Sheorapara, leaving commuters struggling.
Office workers and HSC examinees were particularly hard hit, facing long traffic jams across major city roads due to slow vehicle movement. Many students reported delays in reaching their exam centers.
Passengers also accused rickshaw, auto-rickshaw, and CNG drivers of charging excessive fares, taking advantage of the situation. With traffic at a standstill in parts of the city, many were forced to walk long distances to reach their destinations.
