Dhaka, Aug 01 (V7N) – Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) organized a bicycle rally on Friday morning to commemorate the historic July Uprising of students. The event aimed to honor the sacrifices made by the student movement while also promoting public awareness about health and cleanliness.

The rally was inaugurated at 7:30 AM at Rabindra Sarovar in Dhanmondi by Md. Mahbub-ul-Alam, Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports. A total of 190 cyclists took part in the event, cycling from Rabindra Sarovar to City Hall.

Speaking at the inauguration, the Sports Secretary said, “The government is committed to realizing the Bangladesh envisioned by the students who sacrificed their lives in the July movement. Cycling is not only a tribute to their spirit but also a way to keep the body and mind healthy.”

DSCC Administrator Md. Shahjahan Mia, who was also present, stated that the theme of the rally was "Clean your own yard, build a clean city." He emphasized that the event was organized to encourage residents to take individual responsibility in maintaining a cleaner and greener city.

“The message of this rally is clear: each of us must contribute from our own place to build a clean city,” he said.

The rally drew significant attention from the public and served as a symbol of civic engagement and remembrance of a pivotal moment in Bangladesh’s history.
