Dhaka, Jun 03 (V7N) – With Eid al-Adha just days away, thousands of people are leaving Dhaka to celebrate the occasion with loved ones across the country. On the fourth day of the Eid exodus, Kamalapur Railway Station is witnessing a heavy rush of home-bound passengers, but train services remain smooth and punctual.

According to railway officials, all trains have departed on time since early Tuesday morning, bringing relief to travelers and avoiding the usual Eid-related delays.

Special Arrangements for Eid Travelers

The Eid train service began last Saturday, and railway authorities have deployed five additional pairs of special trains to accommodate the surge in passengers. Regular intercity trains are operating without their usual weekly closures during this period to further ease the pressure.

In a bid to maintain the supply of sacrificial animals to the capital, three 'cattle special trains' are also operating, ensuring smooth transport for livestock ahead of Eid.

Digital Ticketing and Enhanced Security

To streamline operations and minimize overcrowding, 100% of train tickets are being sold online, and advance tickets are non-refundable. Today, tickets for June 13 return journeys went on sale, sparking high demand.

To ensure the safety and security of passengers, the authorities have set up control rooms operated by police, RNB, and RAB at Kamalapur Railway Station.

Travelers are seen either heading home with families or bidding farewell to loved ones amid scenes of joy, emotion, and anticipation—hallmarks of the Eid homecoming tradition.
