Dhaka, Aug 25 (V7N)- The three service chiefs paid a courtesy call on President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Algir at Bangabhaban on Tuesday afternoon.
Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman, Navy Chief Admiral Khondaker Misbah-ul-Azeem, and Air Chief Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmud Khan met the President and conveyed their congratulations and best wishes on his assumption of office.
During the meeting, the three service chiefs briefed President Mirza Fakhrul on the activities of their respective forces. They also sought his guidance and cooperation, in his capacity as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, in carrying out their responsibilities.
The President expressed satisfaction with the activities of the armed forces and said the present government is working to develop Bangladesh's armed forces into a modern, four-dimensional force.
He assured the service chiefs that he would continue providing maximum cooperation for the overall development of the armed forces and for enhancing the professional skills and capabilities of their members.
The meeting also focused on strengthening the armed forces and ensuring their continued professional development, according to officials.
