Dhaka, Jun 03 (V7N) – Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman has received warm congratulations from Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, following his election as President of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
In a message shared on social media platform X on Tuesday (June 2), Ishaq Dar referred to Dr. Khalilur Rahman as his “dear brother” and expressed confidence in his diplomatic abilities and commitment to multilateral cooperation.
Dar stated that, based on his experience of working closely with the Bangladeshi foreign minister, he has deep faith in Dr. Khalilur Rahman’s extensive diplomatic expertise and strong dedication to advancing multilateralism.
He further said that Dr. Khalilur Rahman’s experienced leadership would play a significant role in successfully guiding the activities of the United Nations General Assembly. Dar also expressed hope for continued cooperation at the United Nations in promoting shared global priorities, strengthening dialogue, advancing peace, and supporting sustainable development.
The Pakistani foreign minister concluded his message by wishing Dr. Khalilur Rahman every success in carrying out his new responsibilities as President of the UN General Assembly.
